NearHire

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 19 June 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how NearHire (“NearHire”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, shares and protects your information when you use our website and services (the “Service”). By using NearHire you agree to this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Information we collect

  • Account information — name, email address, password (stored only as a salted hash), and the sign-in provider you use (e.g. Google, GitHub, LinkedIn, Microsoft).
  • Provider profile information — if you list as a freelancer or agency: your title, bio, skills, pricing, location, portfolio links, and the contact channels you choose to share (phone, email, WhatsApp).
  • Verification documents — if you request verification, the identity/business document you upload, used solely to review and grant trust badges.
  • Activity data — saved providers, connections, messages, bookings, reviews and profile views.
  • Payment information — handled by our payment processor (Razorpay). We do not store your full card details; we retain transaction references and status.
  • Technical data — IP address, device/browser information and usage analytics (see “Cookies & analytics”).

2. How we use your information

  • To provide and operate the Service — discovery, search, connections, messaging, bookings and reviews.
  • To verify provider identities and maintain trust and safety.
  • To process payments for contact packs and subscriptions.
  • To communicate with you about your account and activity.
  • To improve the Service and prevent fraud or abuse.

3. How we share information

  • With other users — when you connect with a provider, the contact channels they chose to share are revealed to you. Your public provider profile is visible to anyone.
  • With service providers — Cloudflare (hosting, database and storage), Razorpay (payments), OAuth sign-in providers you choose, and analytics providers (Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity, Cloudflare Web Analytics).
  • For legal reasons — where required by law or to protect the rights, safety and security of NearHire and our users.

We do not sell your personal information.

4. Cookies & analytics

We use strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in and secure (session and CSRF cookies). We also use privacy-respecting analytics to understand usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling necessary cookies may break sign-in.

5. Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service and meet legal obligations. You may request deletion of your account at any time (see “Your rights”).

6. Security

Passwords are hashed, sessions are signed, payment signatures are verified, and data is hosted on Cloudflare's infrastructure. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information.

7. Your rights

You may access, correct, export or delete your personal information, and withdraw consent where applicable. To exercise these rights, contact us at founder.nearhire@gmail.com.

8. Children

NearHire is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

9. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above, and where appropriate we will notify you.
